Food contact materials refer to materials, containers, and food processing tools that come into contact with food, abbreviated as FCM (Food Contact Materials), sometimes also known as food grade materials. When materials, containers, or tools come into contact with food, they will release some harmful substances to some extent. If too many harmful substances are released, it will have a significant impact on human health. The plasticizer incident and bisphenol A incident have become well-known health and safety incidents related to food contact materials among the public. Therefore, countries around the world have attached great importance to the safety of food contact materials, and have taken measures such as legislation and establishing safety standards to ensure the hygiene and safety of food contact materials. The current effective standards for food contact materials in China are GB 4806 series and GB 9685. Different materials correspond to different specific standard numbers, as detailed in the evaluation standards below. These are all mandatory national standards, and any food contact products sold in China must meet the corresponding requirements.
